Tonight, I wanted to try a local restaurant rather than a chain restaurant, so I searched for highly-rated restaurants in the 30319 zip code. The first restaurant that looked appealing to me was Corner Pizza on Johnson Ferry Road. On their menu, the appetizers intrigued me, but the Cruben sandwich was the type of supper I was looking for: shaved pastrami, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and Russian dressing on Cuban bread. For $0.99, I added fries to the carry-out, and I began eating as soon as I could put my truck in gear.
The only problem with a Cuban (or a reuben) is that something on the sandwich (meat, condiment, or veg) is gonna drip. For the Cruben, it was the kraut and Russian dressing. I can just hear it now:
“What’s that stain on your pants?”
“My Cruben dripped as I was eating it.”
“What’s a ‘Cruben?’”
“A Cuban and a reuben?”
“You LIE – there is no such thing!!”
“Yes, yes there is…..Corner Pizza: Johnson Ferry Road in Atlanta.”
